Article 1 This procedures (here forth called these procedures) was established for formation and operation basis of the Gender Equality Education Committee (called this committee). These procedures serve the purposes of promoting gender equality education and concepts, of ensuring the rights of faculty and staff members and students, of providing gender equal education environment, and handling any violations regarding gender equality.
Article 2 The responsibilities of this committee include:
- Organize relevant on-campus resources, draft a gender equality education plan, implement and evaluate its outcome.
- Plan or conduct relevant gender equality education events for students, faculty and staff members, and parents.
- Research, develop, and promote courses, teaching, and evaluation of gender equality education.
- Draft and establish mechanism for implementation of gender equality education and on-campus sexual assault and sexual harassment prevention, coordinate and integrate with other relevant resources.
- Investigate and deal with cases related to Gender Equality Education Act and Gender Equality Work Act.
- Plan and establish a safe gender equal environment on campus.
- Promote community gender equality education.
- Deal with other affairs relevant to gender equality in the university or community.
Article 3 Seventeen members comprise this committee, including one committee chairperson, the president and twelve faculty members, among these members, Secretary General, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of General Affairs, Executive Director of Human Resources Division and Executive Director of Taoyuan Campus Administration Division are ex-officio members, two staff member representatives, and two student representatives. In addition, female members make up more than half of the committee. The president should choose faculty members and administrative staff who possess gender equity consciousness to be the committee members; student representatives should be recommended by Student Government Association. The terms of representatives are two years, and they can be renewed. Following their own current position status, ex-officio members will resign or renew their committee member position. If committee members resign during their terms, they should be replaced.
One executive secretary has been assigned to this committee, the Secretary General of the university, who is the spokesperson of the committee and will represent the committee at the University Affairs Committee Meeting.
This committee is divided into Teaching/Research Promotion Section, Space and Resources Construction Section, and Gender Equality Incident Prevention Section to carry out its responsibilities. Each section has one convener.
Article 4 This committee should conduct at least one meeting per semester. If necessary, provisional meetings should be held.
Article 5 The needed expenses for this committee are supported by the university.
Article 6 Any resolutions made by this committee must be with the agreement of more than half of the committee members’ present at a given meeting.
Article 7 Upon being passed at the University Affairs Committee Meeting and approved by the President, these procedures were implemented. Any revision must follow the same procedures.
